Kinda wasted my precious time

I can now review a lot of decades and time under the bridge. I can look out from some human equivalent of Olympian heights to see what's going on in the living world. Life isn't what I thought it would be. Nor does it stay the same as I go further into it. I listen to kids today and I think it's a matter of brain development: that some kids aren't there yet, maybe won't ever be; that some adults are stuck permanently in a brain that never moves on. And all the lies I believed as a kid, the hip stuff, what is now in this blighted time our multi-culti p.c.? I say, "Blood on the Tracks." I moved on long ago; and today I find myself humming nostalgically. Missed a lot not knowing about knowing. Still movin' on. Right till the end. Ain't no use to sit and wonder why.

It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If’'n you don’t know by now
An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It’ll never do some how.
When your rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on
Don't think twice, it's all right

It ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
That light I never knowed
An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
but I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
So don't think twice, it's all right

It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
Like you never done before
It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
I can't hear you any more
I'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin' walkin’ down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I'm told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don't think twice, it's all right

So long, Honey Babe
Where I'm bound, I can't tell
But Goodbye's too good a word, babe
So I'll just say fare thee well
I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right

Bob Dylan, "It's all right, don't think twice."

There's a price to pay for Petulant Romantic Guys. No, we're not going to miss out on the forever embrace of Mother Nature. The price is missing out on the nice girl who went to church and had kids and made a home and lived in one place and did pretty well over-all in spite of dying of cancer. But, hey, don't think twice, it's all right. It's my precious time to waste.
